Connecting the City of Saints
18.5 km Corridor • 21 Stations • 11 Feeder Routes
The Multan Metrobus System (also known as the Red Line) has revolutionized public transport in South Punjab. This guide covers everything you need to know for 2026 travel, including the integrated Speedo Feeder Bus network, updated fare structures, and station details.
1. Complete Route Overview
The Red Line spans 18.5 km from Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) in the north to Kumharanwala Chowk in the east. The dedicated corridor ensures buses bypass city traffic, significantly reducing travel time.
- Elevated Section: 12.5 km (Northern Bypass to BCG Chowk)
- At-Grade Section: 6 km (BZU Terminal, Vehari Chowk to Terminal)
- Total Stations: 21 (14 Elevated, 7 Ground Level)
- Key Hubs: Chungi No. 9, Qasim Fort, Dera Adda
2. 2026 Fare Structure & Ticketing
As of January 2026, the Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMA) has updated the fare policy to encourage integrated travel.
| Service Type | Cost (PKR) | Payment Method |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Metro Trip | Rs. 25 | Token or Card |
| Feeder Bus (Cash) | Rs. 20 | Cash / Conductor |
| Integrated Transfer* | + Rs. 5 | Metro Card Only |
*Integrated Transfer: If you transfer from a Metro Bus to a Feeder Bus (or vice versa) within 30 minutes using a Metro Card, the second leg costs only Rs. 5.
3. Speedo Feeder Bus Network
The feeder buses are the veins of the system, connecting neighborhoods to the main BRT artery. Here are the most critical routes for daily commuters:
Route 1: Dera Adda ⇄ Women University
Connects the main bus terminal to the university via Kutchery and Abdali Road. Key for students.
Route 12: Railway Station ⇄ Airport
A vital link for travelers. Stops at Double Phatak and connects directly to Vehari Chowk metro station.
Route 2: Qasim Fort ⇄ Suraj Miani
Serves the historical Walled City and western suburbs. Ideal for tourists visiting the Fort.
4. Operating Hours & Rules
Service runs reliably every day of the week.
- Opening Time: 6:15 AM
- Closing Time: 10:00 PM
- Peak Frequency: Every 3 minutes (7 AM - 9 AM, 4 PM - 6 PM)
- Off-Peak Frequency: Every 5-8 minutes
- 75-Minute Rule: You must exit the destination station turnstile within 75 minutes of entry, or an extra fare will be charged.
5. Smart Card (T-Cash)
We highly recommend getting a T-Cash card for Rs. 130 (refundable security). It allows for seamless transfers and saves you from standing in token queues. Recharge machines are available at every station.
